I am surprised nobody does this look on newer cars. You see it more on older cars modified in the 90s. It is tempting to do this on a cheap GTO or truck with a blown engine.

Superchargers seem to have been ultimately replaced by turbos. Now if they could find a way to top mount turbo chargers they probably would... oh...

Aussies and their burnouts... Is the flame in some of these burnouts anything but burning rubber? Do they spray something onto the tires?

Since turbos attach to the exhaust and not just the intake, it saps power if you route them to the top-middle.

I looove this look! Also looks killer with giant turbos. Man the Aussies know how to have fun! Have you seen the episode of Roadkill where they travel to Australia?

Curious but shouldn’t there be filters? Or is it because its a purpose track driven vehicle they dont see enough road time for sucking in crud to be a problem?

That’s got to be fuel for it to ignite that quickly.

I suppose for a clean freshly prepped track it hopefully wouldn’t be an issue. I still would run filters though if it were me.

Back in the late 70s and early 80s some drag cars used to use turbos to help the supercharger. It was a very interesting article I will have to look for.

Maybe they spray some onto the hot tire?

Some of those are mechanical failures, but the pieces of tire are on fire on the end of some runs. They just have an enormous amount of horsepower, and that is burning the rubber.
